My first time buying through Carvana

My first time buying through Carvana. So frustrated. We received a great car, the buying process was easy, however. We drove that car for 2 days and something wasn't right. It was leaking oil (only had 53k miles) and the suspension was really messed up. Called the SilverRock warranty company, they approved a repair for the cheapest parts possible. The brand new part broke 3 times. Over three weeks of waiting for a new part to arrive, the mechanic would get it on, and get ready for an alignment and the part would break. Finally the mechanic ordered a BMW part, got it fixed, and today, the other side broke. It was so abnormal that the part manufacturer is actually flying out to inspect the parts. Now I get to wait another 2 weeks and we'll see what happens. My first payment is due now a month later and I've had the car a total of 2 days. I am so frustrated that Carvana didn't do a proper inspection in the fist place to catch this issue. When I call Carvana they say it's Silver Rock's problem, When I call Silver Rock, they say it's Carvana and the Mechanic's problem. When I call the loan company to get payment help, they say its everyone else's issue and cannot provide any payment assistance. This is the perfect setup for a blame game fiasco. If you order a car from Carvana, I highly recommend you get it inspected day 1 so you can avoid this rediculousness. Good luck.

LOOK NO FURTHER!!! CARVANA IS THE BEST!!!

I submitted an online application to Carvana on "Thanksgiving Day" and would you believe that not only did they come and pick up my car the day after "Thanksgiving" but they literally offered me $6,000 more than CarMax and I'm a CarMax customer LOL!!!... Carvana is truly AMAZING!!!... If you're thinking about selling a car through Carvana think no further these guys are the REAL DEAL!!!... this was the most effortless, seamless, pain-free car selling experience ever... I submitted all my information online and I got a real legitimate offer within 5 minutes and they came to my house the very next day test drove my car and handed me a check within 15 minutes!!!... I am so very very happy that I chose this company because Carvana is the absolute BEST!!! 😃 😊 😀

I purchased two cars from them

I purchased two cars from them. I'm currently driving one. never have any problem until this tie. They approved for a vehicle, all the papers were signed , but then I found one that had 20,000 less miles for $500 more so I decided to go for that one. For some reason I was denied, even though it was only $500 more So I tried to go back to the previous one but I was denied that one . And this is all in one day...
The main problems with carvana is they take your deposit before you're even approved for the vehicle then they hold it for 10 to 15 days while you're trying to look for a vehicle and you have no down payment. It's their scamming way of keeping you looking at their inventory. while you wait.

Failed Inspections & Predatory Policies: Sold me two cars with bad transmissions.

My experience with Carvana has been a disaster from start to finish. This company claims to offer "Carvana Certified" vehicles that undergo a 150-point inspection, but my experience proves this is false advertising.

​The Timeline:
​Vehicle #1: Delivered with a faulty transmission despite their "inspection."
​Vehicle #2: We agreed to an exchange. The replacement vehicle also contained a bad transmission.

​The Trap: After purchasing two unsafe vehicles, I informed Carvana I no longer trusted their inventory and wanted to unwind the deal once I found out the "exchange" vehicle as well had a failed transmission on the day of delivery.
​Instead of owning their failure, they attempted to force me into exchanging for a third vehicle. When I refused, they tried to leverage my trade-in against me, demanding I pay the negative equity immediately if I didn't take another one of their cars.
​ This is predatory behavior. If you value your time, safety, and financial peace of mind, stay away.

If I could rate less than one star

If I could rate less than one star, I would. Ordered a car and delivery was delayed a week. Then it was delayed another week. This left me in a real pickle. Customer service gave me no viable options. I had to cancel the order and buy a car from a real dealership. Terrible, disorganized company with bad, automated AI service. Never recommending.

My experience trying to sell my car through Carvana was awful. I entered all the basic information and got a respectable quote and then went through the long process of taking pictures and uploading details and hooking up access to my bank to get paid. The final step in the process is to schedule the appointment and they want me to drive four hours and 222 miles away to deliver the car! Why isn't this step earlier in the process? What a frustrating waste of time. I wound up selling through CarMax for a few hundred dollars less, but I could drop off locally. Another downside is that Carvana doesn't appear to honor their website settings and they keep emailing me. Avoid Carvana at all costs.

Carvana is a scam

Carvana is messed up. We waited 6 weeks for a car. They kept delaying our first car over and over again and they kept saying it’s on its way, but it never made it out of the repair shop in Mt. so we cancelled that order and ordered the one that’s in our state that will get here in a week and they guaranteed that it was going to get here, but no, the day of the supposed delivery they said there will be another week of delay because the admission test on the car is not done. What the hell. That should’ve been done weeks ago when we’ve wrapped up the process, and we rented 4 rental cars because of their continuous delay,
and it was a lot of money that we put down and a lot of stress that was put on us. This is just unacceptable and ridiculous. They have no respect for the customer, Carvana just wants our money, but not actually deliver the damn car

Carvana is shady and will sell you a car that doesn’t work…

We used Carvana for the first time. The buying process was incredibly easy. We had to drive 2.5 hours away from home to get the car, which is not a huge deal. We live in a rural area. However, after receiving the car it immediately had issues. They weren’t really obvious at first so they weren’t noticed until about 1.5 weeks after purchase so the 7 day return period is over. So I had to go through the warranty for repairs. Went through the first shop and they “fixed” it just to get the car back having the same issues. Had to go through another shop and pay a $350 dollar deductible because Carvana doesn’t have another shop within 100 miles of my house. Again no big deal. Car got “fixed” and was returned to me with the same issues, so I sent it back. Now it’s been “fixed” again with the same issues. I’ve been in a rental for 1.5 months trying to get the issue fixed with no luck. So I contact Carvana AGAIN just to be told they can’t do anything for me and I should have bought the extended warranty. Their exact words “unfortunately since you didn’t purchase the extended warranty the repairs will be an out of pocket expense”. They refuse to put me in a different vehicle and refuse to at least trade my vehicle for what I owe so I can get a car that actually functions. I spoke with management who were very sympathetic but gave me zero options for getting a vehicle that functions correctly. It’s a shame to buy a car for 23,000 dollars and just be screwed on it. Carvana should have fixed all issues with the vehicle before selling it so that people who can barely afford to live can have a reliable vehicle. Especially for such a big company! I’m sure putting me in a reliable vehicle would be no loss for them. It’s incredibly shady business and Carvana should be ashamed of themselves for screwing hard working people out of a reliable vehicle. I drove a little Honda for 9 years and only traded it so I could have a car that fit all of my kids. I would have kept my Honda had I known this would happen. My advice: do not buy from them. You will be screwed with a car that doesn’t function and they do not care.

I had started the process pretty simply. The pre-qualification wasn't an issue and I had a determined rate to start browsing for cars. Once I found the one that I had wanted, I was prompted to start the process, submit documents, and enter payment information.

Without any notice, they determined they would not sell me the car any longer. Now the number one issue I face is that there is dedicated customer support call, text, you name it as you're pre-qualified but the moment you're no longer determined, they completely ignore you. It automatically registers your phone number so that you are not able to call, or text. You'll be prompted with a generic dialogue that you're out of luck.

Oh well. No big deal there, just give me my money back so I can take it elsewhere because I NEED a vehicle. A car isn't a luxury item, it's a necessity. The thousands of $$$dollars you took needs to be sent back as quickly and promptly as it was taken away. I'm out of luck and out of money and genuinely not sure how this isn't the most illegal operation I've ever worked with. Well, they are dealing with a million dollar lawsuit so of course they need to recoup that from consumers. If I am a "paying" customer at least give the decency to respond.

I haven't even received my vehicle

I haven't even received my vehicle. It has been rescheduled now for the 4th time! This has caused so many hardships in our house. My husband has been out of work WAITING. What was supposed to be a fast delivery of a couple of days has now turned into almost a week out of rescheduling! It's getting ridiculous. No apologies, no compensations, no nothing, just an email every morning around 1am stating my appt has been changed with a new date!!!! I almost expect it now! I would not recommend purchasing from them. I'm out a couple thousand right now, waiting... And if I back out, that's weeks of waiting to be refunded, and the DELIVERY fee is NOT refunded.... When it is the DELIVERY that I have been waiting on!!

Misleading Listings & Multiple Major Defects on 2nd Vehicle

This is the second vehicle I’ve purchased from Carvana that arrived with large, undisclosed defects and without proper detailing. My latest purchase, a 2020 Ram 1500 Big Horn, has:
Several large scratches
Terrible paint repairs from a prior wreck
Broken bed rail cap
Cracked windshield (not covered because it’s not above the steering wheel)
Large gash in a wheel
Engine that smells like antifreeze
Carvana told me only certain cosmetic issues are covered, leaving most defects unresolved. The only alternative vehicle that meets my needs requires an additional $600 down, which I cannot afford.
I believe Carvana should cover this $600 due to misleading listings, the inconvenience caused, and repeated failure to deliver a vehicle in the advertised condition. I expect a prompt, fair resolution.

I FEEL LIKE IVE BEEN MISLEAD AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF!!!

A little background on myself first. I own and run a very successful car detail business. The car purchased was for myself. Mind you this is a 2025 with 18,990 miles on it. I recieved my car from Carvana last night. I chose to go with Carvana due to the convenience and after hearing many wonderful reviews. I recieved my car last night and did a quick walk around. I was appalled to see that the vehicle had many upwards of 15 to 20 deep scratches that WILL NOT BUFF OUT. I know this from many years of doing detail work. The website only showed 3 small scratches. When I took a close look at the wheels, they had been curbed so many times that the finish is chewed right through to the aluminum on not 1 but all 4 rims. I showed my "CARVANA customer experience guide" (this is the person who drops off the vehicle and walks you through everything). He pulled up the online profile and showed me the picture and exclaimed, "Wow they took the picture in such dark light that you can't even see those wheel gouges in the photo's!" I was very upset but maintained my cool and looked at the photos that I had previously looked at on their website before purchasing the vehicle and exclaimed "yeah I know I feel like I've been had". He was very polite but said that "there's really nothing I can do for you except take it back." Here's where it gets more interesting. I had to pay a $1,000 shipping fee that is non-refundable. So even if I send it back I'm still out $1,000. And more than likely will have to pay another shipping fee for them to bring me another vehicle. I figured I would take a look inside. I opened the drivers door and could see stains that looked like maybe the previous owner had spilled a pop on the center console and it ran down the sides. It showed very evident dark sticky lines running down the side of the console. When I looked at the passenger side floorboard you could see where somebody with Muddy shoes had bumped their shoes on the interior plastic. These last two things that I mentioned aren't that big of a deal. I do detail work so of course I can clean them. When I asked the customer service experience expert if they detailed the vehicles he said, "oh yes of course" at which point I showed him what I was seeing. I thought about it for a second and reassured myself that this is the vehicle that I had been looking for. I figured well, let's take it for a test drive and see how it drives. Maybe I'll be able to overlook some of the cosmetic issues. I drove it a half mile down the street at 25 miles per hour and then got on the interstate to take it down to the next exit. As I got up to speed I could hear the unmistakable sound of a broken belt in the right front tire. Its the unmistakable thudding sound that sounds like a drum beat that picks up with speed every time the tire makes a rotation. I know I have the ability to send this vehicle back. But no matter what I'm still out $1000. I don't have cash on hand to keep rolling out a thousand dollars every time I switch vehicles to get a different vehicle shipped to me. But that's not even the point. The point is that this is the vehicle that I want, it's the exact vehicle that I want. And it's extremely frustrating and disappointing that I feel like carvana intentionally misleads their customers with clever camera work and deceptive pictures. To say that this vehicle has been detailed is a complete farce. To ensure your customers that Carvana does a 150 point inspection, then turn around and sell someone a vehicle that has a broken belt in the tire seems outrageous. I'm no auto mechanic but you could put anybody in this vehicle and as soon as they get up to speed they will immediately know that something is wrong by the very loud and apparent thud coming from the right front. This is so disappointing. I feel like I've been mislead and downright taken advantage of. Keep in mind that this is a 2025 WITH 18990 miles on it!!!!!! I'm honestly contemplating calling one of my local (metro detroit are) T.V. stations and asking them to do one of their famous problem solver segments on CARVANA. Or at the very least reaching out to a few of the local newspaper's. CARVANA if your reading this, all I want is to speak to someone from Carvana to try to make this right. But so far I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody!!!

P.S. If your reading this and have also had a very poor experience with Carvana I encourage you to also reach out to your local TV stations and newspapers and express your frustration! If only half of us do that it will definitely raise a red flag. Carvana doesn't care about a single customer complaining because they already have your money. They will take notice when your actions stop them from taking money from new customers.

Vehicle is not worth what was paid for it, had the oil changed and car serviced, the air filter was black , disgusting! The guy told me that's to be expected with Carvana! So carvana you are the worst

Carvana was dishonest, apparently this is the normal for them, how can they fix it, service the cars they sell instead of just saying they do, don't lie, don't be a cheesy company, that does not stand out by being a honest reliable company. Pretty simple.

They DON'T inspect cars like they say and warranty is a joke

They sold me a car with BAD rear brakes, said oil was changed (was not) and a suspension problem. The 100 day warranty is crap - the shop they made me use said they don't work on Mini coopers at all
Don't trust their inspection!!

My husband is a 100% disabled veteran…

My husband is a 100% disabled veteran with a traumatic brain injury who uses a VA-issued assistive transcription device to understand and recall phone conversations.
Carvana refused to let him use his medically-required ADA accommodation. Three different reps told him they would disconnect the call and refuse service unless he turned it off—even though Arizona is a one-party consent state and Carvana records all calls themselves.

The way they spoke to him was dismissive and hostile, but when I got on the line, the tone completely changed. That alone was heartbreaking to witness. They also told us there was a “major problem” with the car but later admitted it was only a minor door issue.

This experience caused significant emotional stress, and we ultimately had to walk away from the purchase. No disabled veteran—or anyone with a disability—should be treated this way.

Posting this so others know what to expect.

I had a horrible lowball offer from Carvana on my 2013 Fusion which was in above average shape. Other sites doubled their offer. The tires were worth more than the offer!

Registered Vehicle in Wrong County and Not Going to Fix

Everything was good until they titled car in wrong county and the response was "too bad". 6 weeks after purchase and just now getting plate that is wrong and there is no-one that will talk to you - and the best you can get is a chat that says go to your local DMV and fix it yourself. -

Carvana vehicle delivered with bad wheel bearing.

I went through the entire online process of buying a truck for Carvana with outside financing. Jumped through all the hoops that my credit union and Carvana put in front of me. Got the check from my bank and sold the vehicle I currently had on the day of delivery. Truck showed up with a right front bad wheel bearing. Not only is that a mechanical problem but it's also a safety problem. I rejected the truck and now I am stuck without a vehicle and trying to get around to find another vehicle. Do not buy from Carvana, they could have put my family and I in an unsafe vehicle.
