My EVEC VEC01 charger
My EVEC VEC01 charger arrived quickly and well packaged, really happy with the item and was installed by a suitably qualified electrical engineer.
A couple of improvements on the app that could be considered or it would be 5*.
- the ability to enter energy tariff to allow a true cost of charging the vehicle.
- the ability to switch off the standby blue light on the unit.

A Stress Free Experience
We found evec on line and gave them a ring for more information. Ashley was very helpful, easy to get hold of and nothing was too much trouble. We had to complete a questionnaire online which involved taking some photos of electricity box etc. but again Ashley was there to help with any problems.
On the day the charger was fitted, the engineer arrived on time, was pleasant, tidied up after himself and again very helpful. He gave me advice on downloading the evec app and how to use the timing option.
Overall, a stress free experience that we think was very good value and included a three year guarantee.

EVEC VEC03 tethered
Purchased the Evec VEC03 and had it professionally installed, build quality seems very robust with the IP55 water and dust rating is a must. This model is the tethered version and the unit included the wall mount, which was a bonus as I was expecting to buy this separately.
Few horror stories regarding the app but I found it very intuitive and so easy to set up. Requires WiFi to pair with the charger but you can use it without as long as some internal configuration changes are made to the wall mounted charger. After downloading the app it prompts you add a device whereupon it located the charger with 5 seconds or so. The app has a plethora of options and information and really easy to use. Great this manufactured by a UK company as well. It would've been handy to have an option for a longer charging cable, 5m was slightly too small, 6m would've done it, other than this I'm extremely satisfied and would recommend for purchase.

Customer Service guys are great and come back same day or within 24 hours, so ignore whatever you have read on this point.

Charger seems to work OK but the lack of communication regarding installation was very poor.
Charger was ordered and delivered quickly, I then questioned what happened next regarding installation, I was informed that I had to wait for contacted from the installation company (I completed home survey questions and returned immediately). 2 weeks went by with no contact so I queried this again. I was informed that evec had sent my details over to the installers 2 weeks previous and that they should have made contact with me before now, I then received contact from the installers within minutes.... the installers informed me that they had only just been notified if my installation requirement.... either evec or their installation partners wasn't being truthful!!!! This resulted im me having to pay at a public charger at the extortionate rate for much longer than I needed to!
When installation finally happened, it was completed in a rather industrial style rather than take extra care to fit in a more aesthetical method, in fitting with a domestic dwelling.
I definitely could not recommend the installation package from this company from my experience...

Terrible service
Terrible service. It has been two weeks and no refund received from cancelling due to my car order being postponed. Being a business owner myself I delved into the company accounts online and it looks like they are in serious financial trouble.
Luckily the bank are refunding me, however a warning for people's warranties and employees. This company is going up the swanny. And quick!

Update on Evec's promise to give a refund
This is a quick update on my refund of £357.98, of which Evec had promised to pay back into my account for a cancelled order. I placed an order on Sunday evening on the 9th of February. I cancelled the order at eight o'clock Monday morning, by email, then with a follow up phone call to customer service. I was told they had cancelled the order, and I would get a refund within a couple of days. After two days no refund, I sent an email, I got an email saying it might take up to five days. After five days no refund. I never did get paid my refund. NatWest have kindly repaid me my money back into my account. I've heard nothing from Evec. I wonder how many people have had the same poor service from that alleged company. Today's date is 19th February. Ten days have lapsed since cancelling the order, no apology. Beware.

A great charger at a fantastic price. Easy yo use app for manual and scheduled charging. Come with a 3 year warranty not many offer that.

I had difficulty scheduling a charge for after midnight when Octopus electricity is cheap. I spoke with an extremely pleasant young woman who sorted me with patience and good humour. Many thanks.

The charge I've just paid £999 for…
The charge I've just paid £999 for (with installation) hasn't worked to the full 7.4kw since it was installed 3 weeks ago.
Now it has stopped charging my car all together, and they can only send someone out in 7 days time.
They also won't accommodate my work so it will cost me a further day's wages, on top of the grand for a faulty charger.
I would not recommend.

Great EV charger
Great EV charger. The best priced I could find in the UK and so have been pleasantly surprised to see that infact this is a great charger and with a very easy to use App. My only grumble would be that when I installed new broadband I couldn’t work out how to link to the new WiFi. But called them up and a very pleasant tech team member talked me through it in 30 seconds. Nice to see a relatively new British company doing a great job. Well done EVEC.

I would like to say we love our new…
I would like to say we love our new charger solar 0807 charger from EVEC . I bought the charger 🔌 from them at got an electrician to install it because a friend is an electrician. They didn’t mind and it doesn’t interfere with the warranty, still 3 years. I’ve had to phone up a couple of times and spoke to John to set the timer on the app and recently I spoke to Sam. We love the blue glow light when it’s not being used and green light when it is being used. Thank you EVEC brilliant customer service and app very user friendly🤩
Unreliable charger and poor customer service
I've been having the 'over current' issues since the firmware update last month (that others have mentioned) and have been unable to use the charger. EVEC have just one person working on what is clearly a major problem. I called them first thing in the morning and they said that they had escalated. Called back at the end of the day only to find that nothing had been done and the technical director works Chinese hours and so won't be looking at this until next day. We've had scheduling issues with the charger previously - the app just can't be relied on. Now the charger is completely unusable.

Load of rubbish sometimes I am not bothered about overnight charging and how much it costs.i would like for example to plug in now this afternoon to charge ready for a long trip in morning because I don't trust it to charge overnight because sometimes it doesn't work.it won't let me change until 1130 tonight why can't I just plug in now and charge without all this messing around with an app lossing faith in this charger probably be getting rid soon...evec solve the problem with a simple switch on the box so I can charge now it's that simple wish I would of done more research before buying this peice of junk

What a joke
What a joke! I have barely needed to charge my car because of the lack of mileage I cover. On the 22nd December 2024 Evec issued a firmware update. Later that day I receive a notification about "Over Current charging error" and it's nothing to worry about, the charge still works. (It doesn't).
On the 23rd December i receive a bulletin and the original message saying not to worry, had disappeared. The new message saying "click here to resolve". No hyperlink to click however. Thus acknowledging an issue but no solution.
I have called 23rd, 24th, 26th, 27th and 30th as well as emailing in 29th. When selecting customer services I ring out to eventually fet to a voicemail every time. Today (30th), I select sales, low and behold, someone picks up immediately, of course claiming this is not a known issue. I point him to several forums showing lots of people are having this issue (probably why I can't get through to customer service).
But thanks to a simple firmware update, I have been stuck in the house unable to visit my family, a couple hundred miles away, over the festive period, unless I take a 1:15am, 8 hour Megabus, and when attempting to charge on the app my 32Kwh charger tries to pump between 150-300Kwh (nearly 10 times the max value for a Type 2 cable) after approx 5 seconds, states Over Current Level 2.
Get this sorted. Seem quick to sell, slow to support!

Temperamental charging. Emails going back and forward with evec and I’m not further forward. The installation company has also been in attendance several times.
