I had an terrible experience trying to get paid on Bill.com. The company sent a payment to an old bank account from years ago, then despite the bank rejecting it and sending it back to Bill, the platform still marked the payment as "complete."
I updated my bank account and have spent over 3 hours between their online chat and phone reps being transferred in circles with no resolution in sight.
What an incredible thought, that a payment processor like Bill would hoard your funds and literally make them disappear with no simple recourse. Not sure how legal that is, but I'm confident by now that Bill is a shady company with some serious business malpractices. I would highly recommend avoiding Bill at all costs and finding a more reputable company.

Login experience is terrible and they dont follow through with email support, techinical issues, or phone call help.
I needed to pay a bill for a company vendor and the email login would not work. When I tried to contact support I was stuck on hold and then transferred to multple people after lenghty wait time. Those contact did NOT resolve my issue and I still coulnt pay my bill.

Their EUR/USD exchange rates are also excessively high.
STAY AWAY!
I began using Bill.com in January last year as it was required by a company I was working with. Unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory. Without my explicit consent, I was initially charged for a premium version of their service, something I never agreed to in order to simply use the platform.
This problem repeated itself a few months later. When I requested a refund, they only provided reimbursement for a single month despite having charged me for three months of service.
In my opinion, this reflects poorly on their business practices. I would strongly advise others to steer clear of Bill.com to avoid similar frustrations. In summary, proceed with caution, as my experience suggests they do not prioritize customer consent or fair billing practices.

I was very impressed with their rapid response time and funds redirected into my new acct. I’ve been doing business with Bill for yrs now and things have gone pretty smoothly. I know what to expect from their terms and conditions, fees,ect. Pretty straight forward.
Can't receive SMS and AWFUL service support
Just awful service support. We can't login to the website due to issues with receiving SMS, and this issue persists for almost a month. I am now waiting for 30 minutes in the support queue just to be ghosted again probably. Do not reccomend the service.
Extremely Slow Review Process & No Real Support
My experience with BILL/Divvy has been very disappointing so far. My credit application has been stuck in review for almost two weeks with no updates at all. Every time I call support, it takes around 20 minutes just to reach an agent, and when I finally speak to someone, they simply tell me to email the credit department — which should be part of their internal process, not mine.
I’ve already sent the requested documents, but no one replies. When I follow up, support keeps telling me to “wait until next week” because of holidays. Meanwhile, my application makes no progress and I receive zero communication.
For a company handling financial tools for businesses, I expected better communication, faster response times, and a smoother review process. Unfortunately, this has not been my experience so far. I hope they improve their support and internal coordination because this level of service is not acceptable for business customers.

Unreasonable Fees & No Real Help Fixing Their Own Error
I sent a small $125 payment to a vendor because Bill.com showed them as fully set up in the system. The vendor later told me they don’t use Bill.com at all, so I immediately contacted support to reverse the payment. Instead of helping, Bill.com passed me between agents and then told me it would cost a $90 reversal fee—and there was no guarantee I’d ever get the money back. They also said it could take 30–90 days to even attempt recovery.
This wasn’t a user mistake. Their system falsely showed the vendor as connected, which caused the payment to go out in the first place. Charging nearly the entire value of the payment just to fix their own platform issue is unacceptable and feels predatory toward small businesses.
After this experience, I won’t be using Bill.com again, and I’d strongly advise others to understand these hidden fees before trusting them with payments.

🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SMALL BUSINESSES USING BILL.com (BILL)
I am making this post because BILL.com has demonstrated, repeatedly and unmistakably, that they are not a safe or reliable financial partner for small businesses.
The last four days have revealed system failures, leadership failures, and compliance failures that every user of BILL.com deserves to know about.
SYSTEMIC FAILURE:
For months, BILL’s Invoice Financing system has been incapable of updating my account status when payments clear my bank.
Not occasionally — consistently.
BILL only allows ACH as a repayment method, yet their ACH processing is so slow and inconsistent that their own customers get penalized for their delay.
SUPPORT FAILURE:
When their system froze my access to financing (again), I contacted support repeatedly.
No replies.
No updates.
No timeline.
No fix.
Just silence — while I had an eligible invoice and a cleared payment sitting in limbo.
LEADERSHIP FAILURE:
When I escalated (as any responsible business owner would), I was contacted by BILL’s “Executive Escalations Manager.”
Instead of addressing the systemic processing delays I have been reporting for two months, I was:
Lectured
Dismissed
Accused of “harassing executives” simply for asking for support
Blamed for their ACH delays
And then informed that my financing was being terminated entirely
All of this while:
✔️ I have 18 fully repaid financing invoices
✔️ I have paid BILL over $2,000 in financing fees
✔️ I have never defaulted
✔️ My most recent payment cleared my bank days before the call
✔️ Their own system was the cause of the delay
COMPLIANCE FAILURE:
The most concerning part:
The decision to terminate my financing was made immediately following my attempt to calmly explain the recurring issue and seek help at an executive level.
That is retaliatory behavior, and it is a glaring red flag for any company operating in a regulated financial space.
Accordingly, I have now filed formal complaints with:
Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division
BBB (filing today)
All evidence, screenshots, timestamps, emails, and call summaries are documented and submitted.
WHAT THIS SAYS ABOUT BILL.COM
For a company that markets itself as a “lifeline” for small businesses:
They cut off a compliant customer in good standing.
They blamed users for their internal delays.
They silenced escalation attempts instead of resolving the issue.
They retaliated against a customer who asked for help.
They avoided accountability at every stage.
Small businesses depend on stable cashflow.
They depend on accurate payment updates.
They depend on responsive support.
They depend on companies that do not retaliate when asked for help.
BILL.com has failed on all counts.
I fully stand by every statement here and have full documentation to support it.
If and when BILL corrects this situation transparently and professionally, I will update this post.
Until then, the public deserves to be aware.

This company is aweful. My boss had us sign up for it so she could pay us. They have yet to give me my money. They verified my bank, now they want a picture of myself holding my DL, my passport, a utility bill , and a bank statement, then after all that they MAY need a letter from my bank. They won’t release the money back to my boss so she can just pay me from Venmo which she should have done right from the start. Their customer service is terrible. No straight answers. Save yourself the trouble. We are having a meeting to talk to our boss about using a different company.

Abysmal Customer Support — Proceed at Your Own Risk
I’ve used Bill for more than a year. The product works, but the customer support is so dysfunctional that the risk outweighs any convenience.
For the past three months I’ve been trying to resolve a forty-thousand-dollar check issue and have been passed from one representative to another, many of whom appear to be automated. They do not schedule meetings, and getting a call back is unpredictable. Yesterday they called two hours late, after I cleared my schedule to wait. I thought the issue was finally being handled. Instead, today I received the same generic “suspicious activity” form they have sent more than ten times, despite repeatedly explaining that it does not apply to our situation.
This is only a fraction of what has occurred. If you ever need support beyond basic product use, you will be on your own. There is effectively no customer service, no accountability, and no clear escalation path.

Bill.com is a very bad choice for AP platform
Bill.com puts 'limits' on how much they will pay out during any specific period. There is zero explanation of this as the funds are always 100% pulled from payors bank account prior to bills being released...this is zero liability on bill.com. When questioned, there is no clear reasoning. In addition, they do not warn that you are at your arbitrary limit until you receive an email a day later telling you that your payments will be delayed in processing, however, that does not stop them from immediately debiting payor's bank account. This creates angry vendors and angry payors. Additionally, bill.com epays/ach payments have now stretched out to days instead of 2 days....however, for a 'fee' they can process an ach timely. The customer service is awful and there is zero recourse when they have both your money and refusal to pay the vendors.

On Bill, a UK company cannot set up a US based USD account. So you have to bend over and accept Bill.com's horrible exchange rate to GBP!
Their chat support is beyond abysmal. In a way, the glacial response times and garbled ramblings did reassure me that I wasn't just talking to an AI. But it really is a disaster zone in there.
Avoid this car crash of a company! It will alienate your suppliers and make them hate you for using it!

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. I called last week over a fraudulent email. They assured me my account was safe and helped change my password. Fast forward 3 business days and I had a $9500.00 payment hijacked. I have tried to contact them and have been told by the stupid AI agent that I have to fill out a form and there is no one I can talk to. They have no numbers or humans and no one to help me get my money back. I feel this is a scam company and when our company looked at them a year ago we passed on their services. The only reason we ever use them is when our customers pay through them. I am in the process of contacting the few customers that use this service to let them know we will not accept these payments any longer. Only use if you want to lose your money.

BILL Payment is a racket
Why aren’t all companies using Zelle, PayPal or Venmo? Someone needed to send me a payment and invited me to Bill to get paid. Even though I sent all my banking información to send directly to me, it shows that they had issued a check instead and it has been 2 weeks and the check hasn’t showed up. A little racket to hold my money !!!!!
Stay away from this dubious payment system !

a purposely complicated system
Doing business with Bill.com is the most confusing and non-user-friendly platform ever. We have been using Bill for a number of years mainly to send international payments which works fine... but trying to connect to a customer to pay you is like a nightmare. I receive payment notifications from Bill saying a customer is paying me, but even though we and the customer are users of Bill, I still get a check... in 5 to 7 days.
Why cant the link in the notification email take me to Bill (to verify we are a Bill customer) and automatically make the necessary connection? Instead we need figure out some ID, contact our customer and expect them to know how to make some connection.
Bill loves to take money from the customer and issue checks (obviously)... that way they can have the customer's money to use until the check passes through the mail and clear the bank.
It seems they purposely make things as complicated as possible so they can capitalize on customer's float.

Couldn't be more disappointed with Bill operations. They claim to streamline operations. They exist to earn money on your money. They receive payment and hold it for 4 -7 days, either so they can earn interest or up sale the customer paying an additional fee to have funds immediately.

Slow, unresponsive, horrible customer service
The only direct deposit service I have ever used which extorts money from the recipient for a true "direct deposit". Otherwise the payment will get to you slower than the mail. Have no idea why anybody would use such a service other than to directly inconvenience their workers. Also the only one I have ever used that has lost a payment, and refused to immediately process when the payer sent through a SECOND payment. Absurdly poor customer service. Nearly impossible to get ahold of a human & when I did they just wanted to direct me back to the AI. Cutting all ties with Bill & I will not only never use them again, this situation will likely be escalated to an official complaint due to the utter and complete disregard I have received from Bill on the problem. PS - Do not be swayed by any comment that BILL may leave on this review. They have not & will not reach out to me & they have not & wil not make any further attempt to correct this issue. They have made it clear that they have no intention of doing the right thing & that I will ultimately have to wait an additional 5 days to receive my payment. Their response claiming an attempt at resolution is for face value, only. A despicable attempt to save public face while in private doing NOTHING.

Annoying spammy payment system
My customer sends me an annoying payment process using bill.com to receive it. Bill.com tries to get me to pay them to get paid, delaying the payment if I do not pay them. Now bill.com send me spam. I choose unsubscribe button. It does not go to unsubscribe but to a page telling me they are using my data how they wish followed by a contradictory statement that they use it for good stuff only. But no unsubscribe. But there is a privacy policy link on that page and it goes to a blank white page with only the word "Nope". So basically it is a poorly run company to collect money from any source they can. If they mess up so much on this process, I have to assume they can not handle a financial process correctly. There are legitinate companies like Intuit/Quickbooks that offer these services. There is no need for this.
Bill replies they do not mean to provide this service: unwanted spam emails. Does this mean someone has taken their data and is sending out a series of formatted ads in their name without their knowledge. They had better report that. Or there intent is to spam any contact they get. That is more likely the truth.
I have a software company and we might work with a customer and their other vendor on a project. What we do not do is gather all the emails in the work-related thread and spam them with advertising. Not intentionally or unintentionally.
Yes. It is common that we encounter click through agreements to give data away, but we do not have to be nice about it.
NO. I do not give Bill permission to use or billing and accounting contacts as marketing targets.
