For once a positive experience
For once a positive experience. I had to cancel an order after seeing the delivery time. In no time and though the app I managed to speak with a customer service rep (a human!!) and he sorted it and reversed the charge. Also when ordered other times the service is way better that its competitors.

Want to cancel an order before the rider takes it? Well you have to go to the chat, tell a bot you want to cancel, wait for an agent to pick it up, by which time the rider has left, you can’t cancel and you get the middle finger. Do not use this app, they are the absolute worst.

Unbelievable
The situation was that I received two spilled soups from maki and ramen that the rider, knowing it was all spilled basically forced me to accept ( he told me to complain in the app and that’s exactly what I did) in the meantime he was emptying his soaked bag all over my stairs leaving it all dirty and now they told me that is nothing they can do.
The disrespect of pay for something that came in a poor state, messing my property in their name and the fact that I have to accept that because they can’t do anything it boiled my blood.
Absolutely shocking customer service — no accountability at all
I’ve been a loyal Deliveroo customer for years, but this recent experience has completely destroyed my trust in the company.
I ordered ramen and noodles, and when the delivery arrived, everything had spilled inside the driver’s bag. The food was soaked, inedible, and clearly not in a safe condition — especially since part of the order was for my child. The driver himself confirmed he’d report that the order wasn’t received.
I provided multiple clear photos showing the state of the food, but Deliveroo’s customer service repeatedly dismissed my claim with copy-and-paste responses. I was told my “photo wasn’t sufficient” despite zooming in clearly showing the spill. Every time I replied with more info, they simply rotated between different agents giving the exact same line: “Unfortunately we’re unable to provide compensation for this order.”
No one took ownership, no one escalated the issue properly, and their “apologies” felt robotic. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable — just a refund for food I never received in edible condition.
This isn’t about a single meal; it’s about basic accountability and customer care, which Deliveroo clearly lacks. I’ll be taking this further through formal complaint channels, but I’ll also be switching to other delivery platforms.

paid for priority delivery and riders just ket accepting and cancelling my order. this is still ongoing been over an hour so far. useless staff on order help did nothing so much for help. on a previous order the rider accepted another order while collecting mine the drove 10 mile out for this order with my frozen items but it was supposedly on the way. this company is a joke.

Complete farce
Complete farce. I made an emergency order in the night for rizzla and added to it so that the order was more than just the rizzla which I was desperate for. Ticked to enable substitutions. The rizzla was out of stocked. What! no alternatives? My guess they were too lazy to get the tobacco cabinet key. BUT I still had to provide age verification ID (I'm 59) on arrival, for a packet of crisps and a bar of chocolate. Absolute fools. I've deleted the app, I'll never use them again.
Need to present your case like a solicitor to get a refund
Ordered a party bucket from KFC missing all mini fillets(main part) had to cook extra food (sent a receipt and empty bag) advised not enough evidence need to lay out the food before eating and take a picture before they will consider refunding. Would not even contact the store to confirm. Just eat it is for all future orders.

If I could give zero stars I would. DO NOT use this company. They took an order from me for 8 pounds that had a discount code applied. They accepted the order, took the money from my account, then i noticed they failed the order, refunded the money, then instead took 20 pounds (as they removed the discount code). i didnt even know this was possible.
I have been on their super-unhelpful chat service for an hour. All they can say is - we appreciate your unhappiness but tuff s**t.
They will never get another penny from me and if I were a restaurant then I wouldnt work with them as their terrible reputation rubs off on the restaurant who are innocent in this.
